Charities For Abused Women

Charities For Abused Women

Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a nation to support a community. Do you want to take female empowerment to a whole new level? You can help our most vulnerable sisters by supporting the efforts of charities for abused women allowing them to give a hand to the financially disadvantaged fight battles in court like #metoo. The rise of women’s issues is finally taking the forefront between the Tireless Project, International Women’s Day and March for Women. If you are ready to link arms in the fight for abused women and children around the globe, the efforts of these charities certainly impressed us.

Charities For Abused WomenCanadian Women’s Foundation:

This charity is a granting organization, meaning they support the most impactful projects supporting abused women and children across Canada. When our COVID pandemic hit in North America, the Canadian Women’s Foundation sprung into action creating the Tireless Project to support the most vulnerable woman and children. They focus on outreach programs, education and empowerment classes to help rebuild lives. If this video doesn't empower you, I don't know what will:  https://youtu.be/alPZdkgLcJI

Polaris Project:

Human trafficking is still thought of as something that happens “over there”. But the reality is, it is happening in our backyard. Founded in 2002 by Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman, they were just as shocked to learn human trafficking was taking place in their neighborhood. The Polaris Project focuses on dismantling the underlying systems that make it possible to rob 25 million people around the world of their lives.

Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN):

RAINN, the organization behind the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800-656-HOPE) that provides sexually abused women with free, confidential support. They are also the country's largest anti-sexual violence organization. Since COVID-19 hit, in just three months, they had served a staggering 90,000 people reaching out for help.

Charities For Abused WomenNational Women's Law Center

The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice — in the courts, in public policy, and our society — especially for those who face multiple forms of discrimination, including women of color, LGBTQ people, and low-income women and families. They are the pioneers in breaking down barriers that harm all of us.

The NWLC, founded in 1972, primarily works on the rights of working women and low-income women, from pay issues to sexual harassment.

If you care about LGBTQ rights, the #MeToo movement, Title IX issues on college campuses, pay equity, or child care, NWLC is a great organization to support.

Girls Not Brides

Just as the conversation about human trafficking is getting louder, so is the crisis of child marriage. Each year 12 million girls are married before the age of 18. They define this as a formal or informal arrangement where one or both parties are under 18 years of age. The long list of repercussions from educational deficits, birth defects and domestic violence. And just like human trafficking, it also happens in North America as much as it happens “over there”. Programs in the United States, Africa and Asia, HKI aims to reduce the suffering of people who have little access to healthcare due to poverty. Charities For Abused Women

National Partnership for Women and Families

This organization is a pioneer when it comes to everything from national legislation to providing resources to individuals fighting their own battles. Helping abused women goes beyond their four walls at home. From sexual harassment in the workplace, multi-levels of discrimination, to verbal abuse, the Nation Partnership for Women and Families helps break barriers women face in the workforce.

Just as we put things into this world, it is equally important to give back. It feels good to support one another and even better when we can change the course of the life of abused women and children. The gift of giving not only strengthens our values, but it also introduces our next generations to the importance of generosity.
