I am always on the hunt for female-empowered books or shows and this last weekend was no exception. I had the whole weekend to myself! This rare occasion required carefully planning my time out to ensure I was hitting all the levels of self-care. So I took advantage of the evening by catching up on shows my husband would rather not watch.

Michelle Obama’s new Netflix documentary, Becoming, was a front runner and it did not disappoint. There I was set up on my living room couch, a glass of wine and my at-home manicure station set up, I settled in for a wide range of emotions. I laughed, learned, and even shed a few tears… more than once.
